Video Marketing: The Power of YouTube

youtube-1In the fast moving world we live in it can be hard to keep up. Every year new technologies come out that revolutionize society and keep us moving forward. When running your practice you have a lot on your plate. From nurses, to technicians, to patients, you may feel that there is no time to keep up with these technological advances in the world. But there is one advance that you should factor into your marketing. It’s called video marketing and it is a revolution in itself.

What is Video Marketing?

Video marketing is exactly how it sounds. You utilize a video to market your practice. The video will then be put on a website like YouTube. A recent statistic stated that 65 percent of all traffic online comes from people looking for and watching videos. Last year YouTube had 1.5 trillion views. People are looking for videos and if you seize the opportunity and embrace video marketing you can gain access to thousands of new patients for your practice.

How is it So Effective?

There are several reasons why video marketing is so effective. The first reason is because we live in a visual world. Our society is filled with screens. Everyone has a computer, television, cell phone, tablet, etc. People are watching more than they are reading. As the world continues to evolve people have become dependent on a video format to seek knowledge. So if you properly use video marketing, your practice can be the one to educate them.

Another reason why video marketing is so effective is because it differentiates you from your competition. There aren’t too many medical practices that have caught on to this growing trend. But it won’t be that way for long. By using video marketing now you get a jump on your competition and dominate the video marketing industry before they can.

From a healthcare SEO standpoint putting a video on YouTube is incredibly beneficial. YouTube is owned by Google so when your practice makes a video that goes on YouTube you stand a very good chance of ranking. Google sees that you are educating your potential patients in a unique way and will reward you with higher rankings.

The last reason is that video marketing establishes a trust and familiarity that is hard to achieve online. Since the majority of people are visual learners it can be hard to establish trust through just a website, blog, or social media. All of those things are important but nothing else can build trust like a video. It will humanize your practice and your potential patients will love it.

The world is moving fast but you don’t have to be left behind. You can get a jump on your competition and distinguish your practice as the leader. Video marketing is a powerful tool and the best marketers in the world understand this. That is why AXIOM Health Care Marketing provides video marketing services. What Is A Heart Murmur?

cardiology1Most people have heard of a heart murmur but only a select few truly know what it is. A heart murmur is essentially an abnormal heart beat. It is found when a doctor listens to your heartbeat with a stethoscope. It is not entirely uncommon for someone to have a heart murmur. Most heart murmurs are not a danger but that is not always the case. It is important to understand the causes of a heart murmur and the impact it can have on your life.

What Causes A Heart Murmur?

A heart murmur is caused when blood flows through a damaged heart valve. The number one job of the heart is to pump blood to all parts of your body and get the proper amount of oxygen to your organs and tissues. When a heart valve is damaged it is more of a challenge for this to happen and can cause a number of side effects.

Causes of a heart murmur vary. Sometimes a heart murmur is genetic. If you or someone else in your family has a heart murmur it is important to make every one aware so they can get checked out as well. Another common way to get a heart murmur is simply by a defect at birth.

If you are currently living a lifestyle filled with unhealthy habits you are at risk for all kinds of problems including a heart murmur. By consuming alcohol in excess, by smoking cigarettes, and by eating poorly you are setting yourself up for a world of health problems.

A lesser known cause of heart murmurs is when a person comes down with a viral or bacterial infection. This doesn’t happen very often but it can certainly damage a heart valve and cause a heart murmur.

Side Effects of a Heart Murmur

Since your heart valve is damaged the heart will struggle to pump the proper amount of blood to your extremities. This can cause a number of side effects but most are not life threatening. There are two very common side effects to look out for. If you are unaware of a heart murmur and notice these side effects, see a doctor and find out if a heart murmur is the root cause.

The first side effect is increased swelling around your ankles. This is called “ankle edema.” The second side effect is difficulty breathing. Both of these symptoms can obviously be caused by a multitude of health issues and not just a heart murmur. But be aware of them. If these side effects are severe they can truly restrict your quality of life. Ankle swelling and difficulty breathing make it a serious challenge to do any physical activity.

Classification & Treatment

There are two different classes of a heart murmur.

  1. Innocent Heart Murmur – These require little treatment. Sometimes these heart murmurs even go away by themselves.
  2. Abnormal Murmur – This type of murmur does require treatment. It is often caused by underlying problems with the heart and should be carefully monitored.

The basic treatment for a heart murmur is to run some blood tests and receive an echocardiogram. But if your heart murmur is more serious or needs further treatment it may be time to see a heart specialist.
